July the 4th is a day to celebrate, get outdoors and explore America the Beautiful.

Speaking of… did you know that the woman who wrote “America The Beautiful” started on the verses while on an alpine climb near Colorado Springs?

Back in 1893, while hiking on one of the Rocky Mountains’ highest summits, author and poet Katharine Lee Bates started writing the words which eventually became “America The Beautiful.”

And 80 years or so later, we got this incredible version from Mr. Ray Charles:
